Mr Kersey has developed an extensive cataract and refractive surgery practice, based on referrals from other eye-care professionals and word-of-mouth recommendations. With over 15 years’ experience, and thousands of operations in vision correction surgery, Mr Kersey has helped many thousands of patients to better vision.

Mr Kersey has a very personal approach. He undertakes the consultations both before and after the surgery himself, as well as personally performing the surgery. He believes that it is vital to find the right solution for each patient as an individual, and will take the time to explain all the options available to you. He will only ever recommend the most appropriate treatment for you and your eyes.

Mr Kersey’s training and experience

Mr Kersey is a highly trained and experienced vision correction specialist. He has trained in both the UK and Canada. He was appointed as a Consultant Eye Surgeon at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in 2008. He has performed vision correction surgery on thousands of patients, from children to adults of all ages. He is certified in the use of the Z-LASIK bladeless, Wavefront guided laser eye surgery system. His understanding of both laser eye surgery as well as all forms of intraocular surgery (such as cataract surgery techniques) means that he is in an ideal position to recommend the most suitable treatment for you.

Over the years Mr Kersey has developed a broad understanding of all aspects of ophthalmology. This allows him to make a thorough examination of your eyes and to advise the best corrective treatment based on your visual needs and the health of your eye. Mr Kersey is a firm believer that all forms of surgery should be as safe as possible, and strives to ensure that the outcomes from surgery are the best possible for his patients.

Mr Kersey believes that safety is one of the most important factors in providing an excellent surgical service. He ensures that surgery is recommended only where appropraite whether that is Laser or intraocular surgery. He also feels that where non surgical options are possible it is important to explain these as well. He is continuingly auditing the outcomes of his surgery to ensure the best possible results can be achieved. Mr Kersey has an excellent track record of vision corrective surgery and is respected by local and national colleagues as well as local opticians and GPs.

Mr Kersey’s family and personal interests

Mr Kersey is married to Caroline, who is a trained teacher, wife and mother to their two girls. He is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys walking, canoeing and sailing. When time allows he and Caroline enjoy the opportunity to catch up with friends.
